I was born in October 1985 in a beautiful country that idealistically abolished its army in 1948. In Costa Rica I had a lovely childhood full of football, lego, music (including harmony, counterpoint and composition) and of course lush nature. I first visited Germany at a relatively young age to learn the language of Bach and Beethoven, as I wanted to study music in their country.
I began my studies under Prof. Eugenia Kanthou in the guitar department of the Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler in Berlin. It was there I first became acquainted with figured bass on the theorbo and at the end of my studies I was allowed to play both guitar and theorbo as part of my final recital. Thus my further path as a lutenist had already become clear to me and I moved to Bremen to study Early Music with Prof. Joachim Held at the Hochschule für Künste Bremen (formerly Akademie für Alte Musik.)
